Packing rugs

Packing rugYou might think that packing your rugs ahead of a move is easy, as all you have to do is roll them up, put a bit of tape on them and you are good to go. In some cases this is true; however, there are a few other things that you can do with your rugs when you are moving home.

It is often recommended that you let the moving company handle large rugs that cover a wide area. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just cannot get the rug rolled tight enough; therefore, leaving it to the people who do this all the time is likely to be the best solution. This is not so much of a problem with smaller rugs, as these are much more easily handled.

Another tip is to get the rugs taken away and cleaned by professionals before you move. Not only does this mean that they come back clean and fresh and ready for a new start in your new home but also they come back wrapped and rolled and you can leave them like this until you move.

Make sure that your larger rugs are loaded onto the moving company truck last. This means that when you get to the other end they come off the truck first and can be taken in, unrolled and put into place so that the furniture can go on top of them. This will save you the hassle of moving the furniture later to get the rugs into the right positions.
