National Marshmallow Toasting Day takes place every year on August 30th. We enjoy a wide array of holidays during 11 of the 12 months of the year in the United States, yet when we get to August there suddenly seems to be a big shortage of anything worth celebrating. No wonder a lot of people in Europe just decide to take the whole month off instead!
On the other hand, what manner of big holiday could possibly hope to compete with the magical wonder that is National Marshmallow Toasting Day? What could possibly compare with such a day, after all? Be sure to celebrate National Marshmallow Toasting Day by toasting a large, soft, sweet and sticky marshmallow or two.
You should not forget to make a number of s’mores either. A good recipe for s’mores consists of honey graham crackers, a chocolate candy bar and some marshmallows. Break off a square from the crackers, add a bit of chocolate, toast a large marshmallow over a campfire and add that to the mix, top it with another cracker, and then simply eat and enjoy the thoroughly delicious taste. S’mores can also be made in a microwave; simply put them together and put them in the microwave on high for between 15 and 20 seconds.
Summer just would not be the same without a nice big campfire and this delicious treat to go with it. Enjoy the summer while it lasts and toast a marshmallow.
