Moving with a baby

Moving can be a difficult process at the best of times; if a baby is involved, it can become even more complicated.  The good news, however, is that there are a few tips that can help to make the experience a lot less overwhelming.

The first good tip is to choose a date for the move and then get everything scheduled.  Once you have nailed down a moving date you can come up with a schedule to make certain that everything that needs to be done has been done before this day.  It can be extremely useful to have a schedule drawn up that you can take in with a single glance, and this schedule can also prevent unnecessary procrastination.

Another good tip is to start purging some of your possessions.  Making a move offers an excellent opportunity to stage a yard sale.  There is no point in packing and taking possessions to your new home that you no longer have any need for, so take the time to look through old clothes that no longer fit and create a donation box for items that can be given away to charity.

It is a good idea to start packing as early as you possibly can.  Waiting until the last minute to start packing is a dreadful mistake and factors such as unforeseen diaper blowouts, temper tantrums and just the presence of very young children can really put a halt to proceedings.
