It would appear to be the case that Leighton Meester has turned out to be not such a New York City girl after all. Now that the hit television series that shot her to fame − prime time soap opera Gossip Girl − has finally finished filming on its very last season, the popular young actress is apparently planning to move to Los Angeles.
During their weekend of celebrations to mark the finale of the hit show, series semi-regular cast member Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her role as Dawn Summers and younger sister to Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the cult fantasy drama, hosted a goodbye dinner for Meester with friends and fellow Gossip Girl cast members in attendance at a midtown eatery known as Lexington Brass on Saturday night.
After the celebratory dinner had concluded, the group then went on to the New York Palace in order to attend a wrap party for Gossip Girl, with the celebrations continuing well into the night at Meatpacking District Club Tenjune for Meester, Trachtenberg, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Kelly Rutherford and Ed Westwick.
Relocation to Los Angeles would certainly appear to be a very smart decision for Leighton Meester to have made, given that the City of Angels is widely seen as being by far the best option for any actor and actress who is looking to make the leap from the small screen to feature films and advance their career to the next level.
