Bruce Springsteen was one of the headliners at The Jazz Fest in New Orleans. He and his E Street Band played 24 songs, with the highlight being four Seeger songs from the 2006 tour.
Bruce Springsteen still knows how to keep the crowd entertained and surprised, according to the news and tweets rising out of the festival on Sunday. Another popular performer was Dr John, who joined Springsteen for a couple of the songs. Dr John and Springsteen sang Something You Got, which was written by R&B singer/writer Chris Kenner in 1961. It was a single that Springsteen covered between 1972 and 1974.
Several of his most popular songs were also part of the performance, such as Born to Run. Springsteen also did an acoustic rendition of When The Saints Go Marching In.
Springsteen is definitely not done for the year. In fact he will be returning to New Jersey, which is his home, for a show at the Prudential Center in Newark. The show is set for Wednesday and it is already a sell-out. There are some tickets available through online avenues from those who pre-purchased but may need to auction off the tickets for one reason or another.
Springsteen is known for his politically charged songs and New Jersey voice. There are a few who do not care for his songs, but there are certainly more fans out there that keep him going. You might want to check if he will be performing soon near you.
