Whatever size of office you are moving from, there are a number of steps that need to be taken to ensure that the removal of your office furniture and equipment is completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.  The good news is that moving an office does not have to be a difficult endeavor provided that you take the right steps and are well organized.

Around four to six months prior to the office move you should come up with a list of tasks that need to be completed, which is something that is very important when it comes to helping you to keep track of everything that you need to do.  You should also pick someone in your company to act as the move coordinator if you are able to handle on your own.  Depending on the size of the move, this may be possible, however it is most likely that you will need to hire a professional to help handle the move in addition to having several internal members be aware of the tasks that need to be completed during a specific time frame.

If you own the premises in which your current office is situated and need to either sell it or rent it out, you will need to get in touch with a real estate agent.  You will also need to decide upon a layout at the site to which you are making a move and decide on a budget, as it is vital to know exactly how much you are prepared to spend.

The date of the move needs to be determined and any plans that you want your employees to follow should be relayed to them.
